Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Protein Smoothie|VEGAN| No Protein Powder

In the world of vegan fitness, protein powders are hailed as a vital part of your morning smoothie.  If you don’t use a supplement in your smoothies, it can kind of feel like you’re failing the whole workout regimen.

I don’t personally have anything against protein powders (in fact, I’ve been considering buying one), other than the fact that they’re expensive and mostly unnecessary.

So this morning when I wanted to make a smoothie, I decided to prove that point by making a totally delicious and protein packed smoothie with whole ingredients.

The result? This glowing green Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Protein Smoothie, made with just 8 healthy ingredients that you probably have in your cupboard right now!

 

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Protein Smoothie

  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 3 cups frozen spinach
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 1-2 tsp stevia
  • 1 cup water

Blend everything together for 1 minute or until it’s extra creamy and enjoy!

 

This recipe has:

680 calories, 77 g carbs, 72 g fiber, 16 g sugar, 36 g fat, 24 g protein.

That’s right: 24 grams of protein!  You could even add a scoop of protein powder or a handful of nuts to up the protein content even more.
